Our Story
My name is Cord Linville, and I’m an optometrist based in Des Moines, Iowa. The Fatigue Free Specs journey began in optometry school, where I faced my own challenges with eyestrain and headaches, particularly during long hours of studying and computer work. Years later, my brother Cain, a plastic surgeon, reached out to share his own struggles. He was experiencing similar issues in the operating room—eyestrain, headaches, and neck strain—caused by the demands of his precision work.
Recognizing the shared challenges we both faced, I decided to introduce him to the anti-fatigue lenses that had previously helped me. These innovative lenses not only provide clarity for distance viewing but also offer a little extra power for tasks that require close focus, like surgery. The result? Improved reading, reduced strain, and enhanced comfort for Cain during his procedures.

Not your ordinary lens
Our lenses are different from standard single vision lenses. They allow you to see around your room like the operating room(also clinic or computer), but give you an additional power for closer activities like surgery, allowing for a greater depth of focus than single vision lenses. They also are different from regular progressive lenses. Progressive lenses have peripheral distortion in them, where our lenses do not, allowing for a larger field of view. These lenses are not designed for distance viewing like driving.
