Dr. Cord Linville

Our journey began out of personal necessity. During my time in college and graduate school, I started experiencing constant eyestrain and debilitating headaches. As an aspiring optometrist, I found myself compelled to understand the root causes of these issues and explore how I could not only help myself, but others too, see better while reducing the discomfort that often comes with near tasks. I am a licensed and practicing optometrist with experience helping with eyestrain and headaches.

It wasn’t long before I began working closely with my brother Cain, who, as a general and plastic surgeon in the operating room, faced his own challenges with eye fatigue and neck pain. His experiences became a key turning point in our search for a solution. Together, we explored different lens combinations and options to help him overcome his struggles. After many trials and adjustments, we finally found a breakthrough: a custom approach that allowed us to tailor the prescription to his unique needs, effectively improving his vision while alleviating his eyestrain and neck discomfort.

This solution has since become the foundation of FatigueFree Specs. We specialize in creating personalized lens combinations for individuals who experience eyestrain, headaches, or other vision-related discomfort, particularly during near tasks. Whether you’re working long hours on a computer, reading, or performing detailed work like surgery, we’ve developed a method that helps minimize strain and improve comfort.

At the heart of what we do is a commitment to understanding each person’s individual needs and customizing our approach to help them see better and feel better. It’s not just about correcting vision; it’s about improving quality of life. My brother and I are proud to offer a solution that’s helped us, and we’re passionate about sharing it with others who are struggling with similar issues.

Dr. Cain Linville

I am a dedicated plastic and general surgeon with extensive experience in the operating room, where long hours often take a toll on my body and mind. After undergoing LASIK surgery, I’ve enjoyed the freedom of clear vision without glasses or contacts, but faced unique challenges while performing intricate microsurgery with 2.5x and 3.5x loupes. Even with perfect vision post-LASIK, I found myself needing enhanced visual acuity for detailed procedures, which has led to persistent neck pain and stiffness, along with frequent headaches and migraines from craning to see properly.

Working alongside my brother, Dr. Cord Linville,  I’ve gained valuable insights into the importance of vision in our field. This collaboration has driven my commitment to finding innovative solutions that bridge the gap between traditional surgical loupes and reading glasses. My goal has been not only to alleviate discomfort but also to enhance surgical performance by providing optimal focus across various focal lengths during long surgeries. Together, we strive to offer personalized strategies that empower fellow surgeons like me to maintain their careers while prioritizing health and well-being.
